Terms of Service for OutdoorX
Last updated: 5 November 2026
These terms apply when you use the OutdoorX app on Android or iOS and when you subscribe to OutdoorX Pro.
By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who we are
OutdoorX is made by Marcos Candela Boti, Minerviusstraße 8, 80637 Munich, Germany ("we", "us"),
as set out in the Impressum.

Safety: OutdoorX is a planning aid, not a guarantee
Outdoor activities in the mountains, on the water and in the air are dangerous and can lead to injury or
death. OutdoorX turns weather forecasts, warnings and avalanche bulletins into scores and suggestions to help
you plan. It cannot see the conditions where you are.
- Forecasts can be wrong, change quickly and miss local effects. Scores, best windows and alerts are
calculated automatically from that data and can be wrong too.
- The app does not know about snowpack, terrain, rockfall, water levels, closures, your equipment, your
fitness or your experience.
- Weather warnings and avalanche bulletins shown in the app are copies of official ones and may be late,
incomplete or missing. The official bulletin from the warning service always takes precedence.
- A missing alert or notification does not mean conditions are safe. Notifications are worked out on your
device and may arrive late or not at all.
You are responsible for your own decisions. Check official sources, look at the conditions on the spot,
and turn back when in doubt.
Using the app
- OutdoorX can be used for free. Some features are only available with OutdoorX Pro; the app shows which
ones.
- We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for your own, non-commercial purposes.
Please do not copy, resell or reverse-engineer it, or use it to harvest the data it shows.
- The forecasts, maps, warnings, bulletins and webcams come from third parties (such as MET Norway,
MeteoAlarm, the European avalanche warning services, MapTiler, OpenFreeMap and Windy.com). They are
provided under their own terms, and we cannot promise they are always available, complete or correct.
- We may change, add or remove features, and the app may be unavailable at times, for example when a data
source fails.
OutdoorX Pro subscriptions
- Purchase. Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play or the Apple
App Store. You buy it from Google or Apple, who take the payment under their own terms; we never see your
payment details. The price, the length of the subscription and any free trial are shown in the app and
by the store before you confirm.
- Free trial. If a plan offers a free trial, the subscription starts automatically and you
are charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then.
- Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price
then in force, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. If the price changes, the
store tells you in advance and, where the law or the store requires it, asks for your consent.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your Google Play or App Store account
(in the app: Settings → OutdoorX Pro → Manage subscription). Pro then stays active until the end of the
period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google or Apple under their refund policies. Your
statutory rights, including any right of withdrawal you have as a consumer, are not affected.
- When Pro ends. Your spots, routes and settings stay on your device, but Pro features stop
working and some Pro-only notifications are removed.
- Restoring. If you reinstall the app or change device, use Restore purchases with the same
store account.
On iOS, Apple's Licensed
Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these terms, Apple's
agreement takes precedence for iOS.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to
life, body or health, and wherever liability is mandatory by law, such as under the German Product Liability
Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential obligation, one whose fulfilment makes
the proper use of the app possible and on which you can normally rely, and then only for the damage that is
typical and foreseeable. Otherwise we are not liable for slight negligence. In particular, given the safety
section above, we are not liable for decisions you make based on forecasts, scores or alerts shown in the
app, except as set out in this paragraph.
Your privacy
How the app handles your data is explained in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when features or the law change. The date at the top will change,
and if a change affects a Pro subscription in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app before it
applies.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by German law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of
the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in
dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
